Brief information on bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Moldova:

• On 29 May 1992 diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Moldova were established.
• On 5 October 2005, the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan was opened in Moldova.
• At the moment Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Moldova is Mr. Ulvi Vagif oglu Bakhshaliyev.
• On 1 November 2005 the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova opened in Azerbaijan.
• At the moment Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the Republic of Azerbaijan is Mr. Alexandru Esaulenco.

Visits and high-level meetings:

• On November 26-28, 1997 – official visit of the President of the Republic of Moldova Petru Lucinschi to the Republic of Azerbaijan;
• On October 26-27, 2004 – official visit of the President of the Republic of Moldova Vladimir Voronin to the Republic of Azerbaijan. During the visit, 9 documents were signed, including the Joint Request of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the President of the Republic of Moldova;
• On April 21, 2005 - the official visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the Republic of Moldova. During the visit, 5 documents were signed;
• On June 16, 2005, during the “Round table” of the International Economic Forum in Kiev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with the President of the Republic of Moldova Vladimir Voronin;
• On July 21, 2006, during the meeting of CIS Heads of State, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with the President of the Republic of Moldova Vladimir Voronin;
• On February 22-24, 2007, for the 2nd Intergovernmental Commission meeting, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Vasile Tarlev visited the Republic of Azerbaijan;
• On July 18-19, 2007, Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Vasile Tarlev, participated in the meeting of the heads of state GUAM held in Baku;
• On April 23-24, 2008 – official visit of the President of the Republic of Moldova Vladimir Voronin to the Republic of Azerbaijan. During the visit, 3 agreements were signed;
• On October 9, 2009 – visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for attending the meeting of the heads of CIS countries in the Republic of Moldova;
• On February 25, 2011, within the framework of the Council of Foreign Ministers GUAM held in Kyiv, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmar Mamediarov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova Iurie Leanca.
• On June 1, 2011 in Italy, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Interim President of the Republic of Moldova, Marian Lupu;
• On September 29-30, 2011, within the framework of the Eastern Partnership summit held in Warsaw, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Vladimir Filat;
• On 17-19 January 2012 – official visit of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Vladimir Filat to the Republic of Azerbaijan;
• On 24 April 2014, within the framework of the Eastern Partnership summit held in Prague, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev with the President of the Republic of Moldova Nicolae Timofti;
• On September 9, 2014 – President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received  the  Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova, Natalia Gherman;
• On September 16, 2016, at the CSI Summit in Bishkek, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Pavel Filip;
• On June 06-07, 2017 - the 61st meeting of the Regional Commission for Europe of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) was held in Chisinau, which was attended by the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan Nazim Samedov;
• On June 21-23, 2017 - the President of the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Igor Dodon, paid an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan. During the visit, the President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon, met with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the Speaker of the Parliament Oktay Asadov, and the Prime Minister Artur Rasizade. During the visit, First Vice-President of the country Mehriban Aliyeva received the Moldovan delegation consisting of Irina Vlah and Zinaida Grecianii. As part of the visit, the Moldovan Government representatives also had a meeting with the Head of the International Relations Department of the ruling Yeni Azerbaijan party, Sevinj Fataliyeva. Within the framework of the meeting the issues of bilateral cooperation development were discussed;
• On June 29-30, 2017 - Members of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sevinj Fataliyeva and Sadagat Valiyeva visited the Republic of Moldova;
• On July 10, 2017 - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mahmud Mammadguliyev and Deputy Director of the State Agency for Alternative and Renewable Energy Jamil Melikov participated in the 9th meeting of the informal dialogue of the Eastern Partnership countries in Chisinau;
• On November 15, 2017 - President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova Alexandru Jizdan;
• November 16, 2017 - the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ramil Usubov met with the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova Alexandru Jizdan;
• On November 16, 2017 - the Head of State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan Firudin Nabiyev met with the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova Alexandru Jizdan;
• On November 16, 2017 - the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan Kamaladdin Heydarov met with the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova Alexandru Jizdan;
• On March 15-16, 2018 - the visit of the President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon to the Republic of Azerbaijan on the occasion of participation in the International Forum "VI Global Forum Baku - 2018";
• On September 27-28, 2018 - the 11th session of the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly was held in the Republic of Moldova. The session was also attended by members of the Baltic Assembly, as well as representatives of the parliaments of Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia. Azerbaijan was represented at the session by a delegation headed by Azar Karimli, Ali Masimli, Rustam Mahmudov and Kenan Akhundov;
• On October 5, 2018 - meeting of the Heads of Government of GUAM Member States was held in Chisinau. GUAM Member States Officials took part in the event: Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Pavel Filip, Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuk Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groysman. The Delegation represented the Republic of Azerbaijan as follows: Ali Akhmedov - Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan - head of the delegation of the Azerbaijan Republic; Asker Abdullayev - Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
• On October 5, 2018 - Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Ahmedov received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Pavel Filip;
• On December 13-14, 2018 - the 39th meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) member states was held in Baku. The Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova Tudor Ulyanovski took part in the event;
• On December 13, 2018 - Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova Tudor Ulyanovski held a bilateral meeting with the chairman of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, and with the Minister of the Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Inam Karimov;
• On February 24, 2019 - a delegation led by the chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mazahir Panahov also went to the Republic of Moldova to observe the parliamentary elections;
• On February 21-26, 2019 - Sabir Hajiyev, a member of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and head of the Azerbaijani-Moldovan working group on interparliamentary relations, visited the Republic of Moldova;
• On March 14, 2019 - President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon;
• On September 24-26, 2019 - in Chisinau was held High-level seminar on statistics "Next step in cooperation" for heads of national statistical offices of Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia. Chairman of the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan Tahir Budagov;
• On October 10, 2019 - the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with the President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon in Ashgabat;
• On October 16-17, 2019 - Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee Igbal Babayev and Head of the International Cooperation Office Dilavar Farzaliyev attended the next meeting of the GUAM Steering Committee for Trade and Transportation Assistance in Chisinau;
• On December 5-6, 2019 - an international conference dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Basic Multilateral Agreement on International Transport for the Development of Europe-Caucasus-Asia Transport Corridor (TRACECA) and the XIV Meeting of the TRACECA Intergovernmental Secretariat were held in Baku.  The Minister of Economy and Infrastructure of the Republic of Moldova Anatoly Usatiy also attended at the event;
• On February 9-10, 2022 - Official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan of the Deputy Prime-Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova Nicu Popescu;
• On October 10, 2022 - the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the Prime-Minister of the Republic of Moldova Natalia Gavrilita;
• On October 10, 2022 – Prime-Minister Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov met the Prime-Minister of the Republic of Moldova Natalia Gavrilita;
• On October 11, 2022 - Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Parliament Sahiba Gafarova met Prime-Minister of the Republic of Moldova Natalia Gavrilita;
