The Embassy of Azerbaijan in RM honored the memory of the victims of the Second Karabakh War
On September 27th, 2023, an event dedicated to the Memory Day of the Victims of the Second Karabakh War was held at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Chisinau. The event was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye Mr. Uygar Mustafa Sertel, Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Türkiye Mr. Sheref Malkoch, Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mrs. Sabina Aliyeva, Chairman of the Parliamentary Friendship Group between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Azerbaijan on behalf of the Republic of Moldova Mr. Vitalie Jacot, representatives of the Azerbaijani community in the Republic of Moldova, public and political members and media.
The event began with the laying of flowers at the bust of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, and at the memorial to the Second Karabakh War in the square near the embassy. The participants also paid tribute to the memory of the victims with a minute of silence.
At the event, MP Vitalie Jacot, Chairman of the Moldova - Azerbaijan Parliamentary Group, took the floor and reiterated Moldova's support for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and expressed sincere condolences to all those who lost their loved ones in the war.
The event was also addressed by Sherif Malkoch - Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Türkiye and Sabina Aliyeva - Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
At the end of the event the participants got acquainted with the thematic exhibition dedicated to September 27th - Memory Day (the anniversary of the beginning of the Second Karabakh War), which is celebrated annually in Azerbaijan according to the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
