Memory of the victims of the Second Karabakh War was honored in Chisinau

The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Moldova held an event dedicated to September 27 - Remembrance Day.

The event was attended by the Member of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Gaya Mammadov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to th Republic of Moldova, Mr. Uygar Mustafa Sertel, the Chairman of the Azerbaijani Congress of Moldova, Mr. Elchin Bayramov and our compatriots living in this country.

The event began with a minute of silence in memory of our heroes who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our lands followed by laying of flowers at the bas-relief dedicated to the 44-day Patriotic War and at the bust of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

In his speech, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Ulvi Bakhshaliyev stressed out the historical significance of the 44-day Patriotic War led by, Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the liberation of our lands from occupation, and the new realities emerging in the region. The Ambassador noted that September 27 is celebrated as Remembrance Day every year in accordance with the relevant Decree of President Ilham Aliyev, and emphasized that the dear memory of our heroic martyrs will always live in the hearts of our people. The diplomat noted that on September 19-20, 2023, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces conducted an anti-terrorist operation to prevent further provocations by Armenians, and as a result the sovereignty of our country was fully restored in less than 24 hours.

The Member of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Gaya Mammadov noted that the historic Victory was achieved in the 44-day Patriotic War with the liberation of our lands that had been under occupation for 30 years by our brave Army under the leadership of the Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Mr. Ilham Aliyev. The MP expressed pride in the attendance of so many of our compatriots living in Moldova on the Day of Remembrance, and stressed out the importance of our compatriots standing by the Azerbaijani state, regardless of where they live.

Chairman of the Azerbaijani Congress of Moldova, Mr. Elchin Bayramov remarked that through 44-day Patriotic War ended with a historic Victory the territorial integrity of our country was restored with the liberation of our ancestral lands under occupation. Elchin Bayramov emphasized that our soldiers and officers showed unparalleled bravery in the liberation of our lands, and with their heroism they forever wrote their names in the glorious history of Azerbaijan. Echin Bayramov noted that during the war, Azerbaijanis living in Moldova followed the news from the front with interest and were very happy about the liberation of our lands from occupation.
