Victory Day and the State Flag Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan were solemnly celebrated in Chisinau

On November 6, 2025, the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Moldova hosted a solemn event dedicated to November 8th - Victory Day in the Patriotic War of 2020, as well as November 9th - the State Flag Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The event was attended by government officials, heads and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited to the Republic of Moldova, well known public and political figures, as well as representatives of the Azerbaijani Diaspora.

At the opening of the ceremony, the guests honored the national anthems of the Republic of Azerbaijan and of the Republic of Moldova. Moreover, the guests honored with and a minute of silence the memory of those who died for the territorial integrity of our country.

In his opening remarks, Ambassador Ulvi Bakhshaliyev stressed that this great Victory achieved by our glorious Army under the leadership of the Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev was written in golden letters in the history of Azerbaijan.

"Our historic Victory in the 44-day Patriotic War of 2020, as well as the decisive local anti-terrorist operations in 2023, put an end to the 30-year occupation of Azerbaijani lands. This historical achievement is not only a triumph of Azerbaijan's national will and determined struggle, but also an important contribution to the establishment of justice, peace and stability in the region. As a result of the 44-day Patriotic War, Azerbaijan has restored its territorial integrity, justice and international law," stated the Ambassador.

The Ambassador emphasized that the steps taken under the leadership of our Head of State have once again confirmed the peace agenda put forward by Azerbaijan.

Diplomat also mentioned, the large-scale restoration and construction work successfully carried out in the territories liberated from occupation within the framework of the "Great Return" program that is radically changing the face of the region.

State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Sergiu Mihov, conveyed his congratulations to the Republic of Azerbaijan on Victory Day and noted that Azerbaijan is making significant efforts to promote peace, stability and regional development.

"Moldova has consistently supported and continues to support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Relations between the two countries are developing in the spirit of sincere friendship and active cooperation. In this regard, we note the meetings of our Heads of State, multiple visits at the level of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other sectoral ministries, and inter-ministerial political consultations. We express our interest in advancing discussions aimed at strengthening the bilateral agenda. We hope that we will continue the practice of bilateral visits at the same pace, including at the highest level," added Sergiu Mihov.

The State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign official noted that the two countries cooperate effectively in the economic sphere and hope for the contribution of the Republic of Azerbaijan in diversifying the sources and routes of country's energy supply.

The Chairman of the Congress of Azerbaijanis of Moldova, Elchin Bayramov stressed that our compatriots living in Moldova are celebrating our Victory with pride and that Victory Day has become a symbol of the power and unity of the Azerbaijani state. The Victory won by the Azerbaijani people and their magnificent Army in the Patriotic War is engraved in golden letters in the history of our statehood. Azerbaijanis living in Moldova also celebrate Victory Day solemnly.

Following the reception’s progam, a video dedicated to our glorious Victory was shown. Within the reception a painting exhibition on the theme "We returned" consisting of works by Azerbaijani artist Narmina Najafova, a member of the UNESCO International Association of Plastic Arts, and other well-known Azerbaijani artists, and a photo exhibition dedicated to our glorious Victory were presented.
