Minister Viorel Gherciu: Azerbaijan and Moldova should intensify import-export markets to support the business environment in overcoming the crisis

Considering the current situation in the region, Azerbaijan and Moldova should implement intensive diversification of import and export markets in order to support the business environment in overcoming the crisis.

The Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry of Moldova, Viorel Gherciu, expressed this opinion in his meeting with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Moldova, Gudsi Osmanov.

In the meeting, the parties discussed the intensification of dialogue and trade-economic cooperation. At the same time, views were exchanged on intergovernmental forums to be organized in order to strengthen mutual trade flows, identify new resource providers and expand bilateral relations in all segments.

Minister Viorel Gherciu highly appreciated the activities of the ambassador for expanding bilateral cooperation and attracting Azerbaijani investments to Moldova's economy.

"Given the current situation in the region, including a significant increase in the prices of energy and raw materials, producers of agricultural products cannot meet the demands of the regional and world markets. In this sense, we should support the intensive diversification of import and export markets to support the business environment in getting out of the crisis," the minister said.

For his part, Gudsi Osmanov noted that the initiation of joint events and projects will increase the opportunities for development and reforms for both Moldovan and Azerbaijani companies.
