Information for citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan intending to enter the territory of the Republic of Moldova or transiting through the territory of the Republic of Moldova on their way to Ukraine
According to Article 6(I) 200/2010 of the Law of the Republic of Moldova, entry to the territory of the Republic of Moldova is granted to foreign citizens who meet the following conditions:
a) The person crossing the state border must be in possession of a document recognized or accepted in the Republic of Moldova. Unless otherwise provided for in international treaties to which the Republic of Moldova is a party
b) Under the conditions of this Law, persons holding a valid visa, residence permit, certificate of refugee status or certificate of beneficiary of humanitarian protection may enter the territory of the Republic of Moldova. Unless otherwise provided for in international treaties to which the Republic of Moldova is a party
c) Presentation of documents confirming the purpose of entry and proving the availability of sufficient means to support themselves, to return to their country of origin or to transit through another country and to travel from the country of transit to a third country
d) a guarantee that the alien will be allowed to enter the country of destination at the time of transit or a guarantee that he/she will leave the territory of the Republic of Moldova if he/she does not do so
e) persons entering the territory of the Republic of Moldova must not be prohibited persons or undesirable persons
f) persons entering the territory of the Republic of Moldova must not represent a threat to national security, public order or health
g) Persons entering the territory of the Republic of Moldova shall not be subject to a specific instruction to prevent their entry into the territory of the Republic of Moldova.
In addition, in accordance with Article 17(1) of Law 215/2011 on the State Border of the Republic of Moldova, the Border Police of the Republic of Moldova, in accordance with the rights granted to it by law, requires the following documents confirming the purpose of persons entering the territory of the Republic of Moldova
a) For business travellers:
-an invitation from the enterprise, organization or institution
-documents confirming economic interest (e.g. power of attorney, employment contract, tickets or invitations to exhibitions)
b) For trips for the purposes of studies or other forms of education
-document confirming enrolment in an educational institution or other form of education
-matriculation certificate or certificate of attendance
c) For tourism or travel for personal purposes:
-proof of accommodation in a hotel or, if the foreign national is staying in private accommodation, an invitation from the owner stating the address of the guest's accommodation
-confirmation of travel arrangements or other relevant travel plan document
-tour ticket
d) For journeys undertaken for political, scientific, cultural, sporting, religious or other purposes:
- invitations, entry tickets, programme, if possible documents with the name of the host organisation, duration of the trip
- any other relevant documents proving the purpose of the trip
e) For travel for the purpose of embarkation, disembarkation and repatriation of a crew member.
