On 1-st June at the "Ion Creangă" National Library for Children's Club (31 August, 121, Licurici Republican Doll Theater) was hosted the awards ceremony of the participants in the International Literary Contest "Journey into the world of stories", the national stage.
The Journey into the Stories World Contest is an international project by the State Children's Library of Russia in collaboration with the Republic of Moldova's National Children's Library "Ion Creanga", the Republican Children's Library of Azerbaijan, the National Library for Children in Armenia, the Library Central Children's Center of Minsk, Belarus, Central Library for Kids in Kazakhstan. The contest takes place simultaneously in six countries, in two stages: national and international, and aims at capitalizing on and promoting national folklore traditions, encouraging children's literary creativity, identifying and supporting talented children. The contestants, children aged 10-14 years, were tasked with writing stories inspired by the folklore traditions of the countries they represent. The National Library for Children "Ion Creanga", as a coordinating institution in the Republic of Moldova, organized, during February-April 2019, the national stage of the competition. Out of about 60 papers presented to the national jury, 20 were selected, the authors of which will participate in the awards ceremony. During the event, diplomas and gifts will be awarded to winners of the First Prize (1), the Second Prize (2), the Third Prize (3) and the Mentions (14). The winners will receive a set of books from the Prut Publishing House. The first three works awarded at the national stage are presented to the international jury, which will select one work from each country. The award ceremony of the winners in the international stage will be held in Moscow, Russia. The works awarded by the international jury will be published in a collective volume.
