Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova on recent events on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border

July 14, 2020, Chisinau - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova is following with concern the events on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border, where in recent days have been armed clashes, resulting in loss of life.

The MFAEI expresses its condolences to the families of the fallen and calls the involved parts to refrain from the use of force, to continue their efforts to avoid escalating the situation and to identify a lasting political solution based on respect for the principles and rules of international law.

The Republic of Moldova pronounce for the peaceful settlement of the conflict situation on the basis of respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan within its internationally recognized borders.
