Azerbaijan Independence Restoration Day celebrated in Chisinau

On October 18, in the Victory Square near the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Moldova, took place an event dedicated to October 18 - the Day of Restoration of Azerbaijan's Independence

At the beginning, the participants of the event laid flowers at the bust of the Nation Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev.

The Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Moldova, Gudsi Osmanov, took the floor. He told the participants of the event about the hard challenges of the azerbaijani people, who were subjected to ethnic cleansing by Armenian aggressors in the first years of independence, about the occupation of azerbaijani lands, about the priceless role of Heydar Aliyev in saving the azerbaijani state from destruction and about his merits in the development of modern Azerbaijan. The diplomat also referred to the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity in accordance with the norms and principles of international law. He noted that thanks to the successful internal and foreign policy of the President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan is now one of the most authoritative members of the world community, a leading state in the region, a country with a stable economy and a strong army.

Also, the Deputy of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Chairman of the Moldova-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Friendship Group, Vitalie Jacot in his speech highlighted the strength and determination of the azerbaijani people, who fought for their independence and managed to build one of the strongest states in the region. V. Jacot noted that the progress and prosperity seen in all spheres in Azerbaijan - an indicator and a living example of the hard work, will and determination of the country's leadership.

In his speech, Patriotic War veteran Ilgar Jahangirov spoke about the 44-day war that restored Azerbaijan's territorial integrity. He said that the worthy sons of the Azerbaijani people fought for the restoration of justice and managed to achieve a brilliant victory thanks to the will and determination of the President of Azerbaijan and their courage and bravery.

At the end of the event, participants were introduced to an exhibition dedicated to the modern development of Azerbaijan.
